On a brisk, snowy weekend, the Estates of Sunnybrook team invited couples to their much anticipated annual Wedding Open House. Despite the weather, it was a full house event! Guests were invited to explore the multiple estates on the grounds, from the intimate Coach House and McLean house, to the grand, historic ballrooms at the Vaughan Estate. Big thanks to Samantha Ong Photography for being onsite to capture it all!
Our tour begins with the main building – the Vaughan Estate. Entering the Main Ballroom, the super-talented folks at Fete Floral & Events teamed up with Swoon Events to create a classy, elegant reception vignette filled with lush blooms and greenery. Each tablescape has a different colour palette and personality from which couples can draw inspiration: from Spring-looking fresh blooms, to a greenery-inspired tablescape to one with colourful floral linen being the focal point – all so gorgeous!
On my way down to the next floor, I had to stop by not one, but three stations for sweets. My hands were full of cookies and cupcakes! I love the delicate designs and refreshing colours of the cakes from Christina at The Cocoa Cakery.
Bobbette & Belle‘s signature styles are always a classic.
Pass the Cookies specializes in designed cookies and stacked cookies, which are perfect for bridal showers and wedding favours. They are way too pretty so there was no way I was about pass the cookie on to anyone else!
With classical piano and singing performed by Ken Delos Santos drawing us onward, the second stop of our tour is the Courtyard Ballroom at the lower level. One of the stand-out features has got to be the walk out patio. Ashton Creative and LoveLee Celebrations styled the ballroom with some seriously stunning decor! Pampas grass is so on trend and the colour palette of soft blush and muted tones are my favourite. It even matched my outfit too! Four different designs were created with the same colour palette, from lush and tall to simple and minimalist sure to fits every budget. Event Rental Group provided the rental chairs, linens and tableware to complement each look.
Heading up the winding staircase to the second floor, we tour two of the available ceremony spaces. Beginning with Academy of Medicine, where the team at Secrets Floral Collection created a jaw-dropping chuppah in the most romantic pink. I wanted to get married again under this beautiful chuppah!
Heading across the hallway to Valleyanna Room, I was welcomed by the duo from Ambiance Flute & Guitar Duo. The balloon arch by Corporate Balloonery and Helix Candles brought a gentle pop of colour to the space as well.
The Coach House is the perfect home for an intimate wedding. Our new friends at De Novo Florals provided all the floral and decor setup for both ceremony and reception designed by Destiny Weddings. The hanging altar arrangement added a modern touch the ceremony space. They showcased four centerpieces in different styles, from modern black and white to an organic, nature-inspired look.
Our next stop was the magnificently-charming McLean House – a personal favourite of mine. This building has lots of windows, drawing a ton of natural lighting to the interior, perfect for sunning wedding photos! Periwinkle Flowers provided the arrangements for the staircase and what a cute setup!
We first say hello to the oh-so-talented ladies at The Paper Boutique. Their stationery and invitations are full of beautiful illustrations and designs.
Styled by August In Bloom, florals by Lobo Florals and tableware by Plate Occasions, the talented team gave a “golden” touch to the room. I love the details and textures from the dried hydrangeas and feathers.
Don’t think we didn’t notice the art-deco, gatsby themed decor that seemed to pop up in a lot of the table designs! Perhaps a subtle nod to the 20’s will be a recurring theme for 2020 events!
Our last stop was the Bayview Room: in my opinion, one of the most beautiful indoor ceremony spaces at the Estates of Sunnybrook. The arched windows flood the space with natural light. Kreative Klusters and Perwinkle Flowers created a gorgeous ceremony setup. The sage coloured balloon clusters were soooo beautiful and worked so well with the carpet. The decor completely enhanced the room.
We had an amazing time touring this classic venue on a bright and cheery winter Sunday! The team at Estates of Sunnybrook outdoes themselves every year, pulling together such as a stellar list of vendors for the open house. A big thank you to all the amazing staff and vendors for your hospitality and for hosting such an amazing event!
