Hi!
I'm Katarina, Kat for short and it's lovely to virtually meet you! I am a dreamer, documentarist of love stories & totally dorky! I love laughter, capturing emotions & intimate moments in time, but most of all I love connecting with really amazing humans. I am based out of Toronto but I have travelled all over the world where I documented people's stories and adventures & loved every minute! I love getting personal & capturing your memories in the most honest and organic way possible. I work with a wonderful team including my husband Hugh (who has epic hair & is affectionally known as Grumpy Insta Hugh), Gillian, our incredible associate and dog lover, and our amazing documentary film-maker, Steph who has a heart of gold!

Our photography philosophy is simple: We truly believe that photography is an intimate & personal art form & your memories need to be captured in their most honest and unique way possible! Therefore we don't think of our couples as "clients", but instead we think of you as friends who want to hang out, have some fun, and take some photos! So if you are looking for more than just "photographers" but someone you can laugh with, dance with, and get silly with - that's us, so let's grab a bevy & chat!

The night we met Kat from Boakview Photography, we already knew that she was the one! She said the most profound thing that stuck with us- "next to your spouse, on your wedding day there is no one else you're spending more time with than me" and it was a literal lightbulb that went off in our heads. It was clear that she wasn't just some photographer that would show up and take photos - she was genuinely invested in our love story. Throughout the entire wedding planning process, Kat's supportiveness and creativity was front and centre. We were nervous when we did our engagement photos, but Kat was there to put us at ease and make it feel more natural all while having fun! Her attention to details were evident as she found all the perfect little spots to take our photos - her beautiful photos speak for themselves! She's more than "just a wedding photographer" - she's patient, creative, optimistic, and all around amazing human with a heart of gold - and it shows in her work. She pours her love into your love story, and to us, there isn't anything better than that. Thanks to Boakview Photography, we have beautiful engagement and wedding photos to enjoy for years to come!

From the first meeting at a bridal show to even after the wedding day finished, Kat was friendly, professional, and on the ball with everything. We appreciate her expertise, on the fly suggestions, and flexibility throughout the entire process. It was a chaotic day given the COVID restrictions, but Kat helped us stay on track with the schedule while capturing the important photos we desired. We are thrilled with the outcome of the photos and would recommend her services to others.

We had the best experience working with Kat and Boakview photography. She takes the most beautiful photos and was really able to help my husband and I feel comfortable in front of the camera. She is easy to communicate with, a total pro at what she does, and an overall delightful human being. We got married during Covid and Kat was so supportive to us through every step. Batman & Robin ain’t got nothing on Kat & Hugh! Put a couple cameras in their hands, and this dynamic duo left my hubby and I in complete awe. From the moment we met Kat during our engagement pictures, she made being photographed feel comfortable and fun. She asked us questions about ourselves and got to know us as a couple, which helped her capture the truest moments of ourselves in both our engagement and wedding pictures. Our bridal party absolutely loved working with the two of them, and our family & friends rave about how beautiful the pictures turned out and how awesome Kat & Hugh both were. If you’re anything like my husband and I, who don’t normally get photographed on the daily and can be a bit awkward, but the two of them had us laughing and forgetting there was even a camera. Boakview photography!!!. Kat and Hugh made our wedding day all about us. They were more then photographers. We didn’t have a wedding planner and they helped out so much to make sure things went as planned while capturing our entire day and taking timeless photos to boot. We are so glad we picked them to document our biggest day.
