The Mississauga Convention Centre hosted its 2018 fall open house this past Sunday and EventSource was once again on the scene to cover it. This was a special one for the MCC as they used it as an opportunity to announce a new spring renovation to their floors and front lobby area.
One of the things that always impresses me about the MCC is their continued massive popularity year after year, this event being no exception. While it was a cold and rainy Sunday afternoon in October, in no way did that deter the hundreds of attendees from driving in to enjoy the complimentary cuisine and seeing the venue decorated as it might be for their 2019 or 2020 wedding. Digital Dream Productions captures all of the pretty details.
Once I walked through their waterfall-adorned entrance with luxurious carpets, drapery, and handsomely decorated walls, I was captivated by the sleek, modern, and elegant theme designed by the in-house team at Elegante Decor, with chairs and accessories supplied by Detailz Couture Event Rentals. Gorgeous white florals with crystal chandeliers were easily a match for so many of the couples thinking of a modern-chic styled wedding!
There were a variety of wedding vendors stationed throughout the ballroom to help couples better imagine their wedding day: bb Blanc Audiovisual, Just Temptations, Enduring Promises, Serendipity & Co., and Axe Media Group, to name a few.
Leaving hungry was not an option thanks to a wide array of food stations including a Mushroom Cappuccino, Mini Crab Cakes, full dessert bar, and passed appetizers including a delicious sushi pizza (of which, I had more than a few).
Just before stretching out in one of the ridiculously-upgraded limos courtesy of A Celebrity Limousine, I sat down to chat with a couple who had recently booked their wedding at MCC. They were thrilled in finding this venue as initially they were concerned about finding a banquet facility that would be both classy and affordable. They were also concerned about finding a venue large enough to accommodate their large guest list of 350 guests (no negotiating there, parents can be persuasive!). For them, the MCC checked all of these boxes and more! In their excitement I believe I found the answer why the MCC continues to pack its open houses with so very many attendees.
