Margo and Jacob’s love story started when they were both 16 years old and set up by a mutual friend. Although high school romances often don’t last, this couple’s love was enduring — fast forward a few years, Jacob got down on one knee on New Year’s Eve underneath fireworks overlooking the ocean in Taiwan where they were both teaching English at the time.
From the Bride: Exactly at midnight, Jacob pulled me up onto the lookout over the ocean as fireworks dazzled the sky above us. He spun me around, got down on one knee, and took out the diamond ring he’d picked for me. I was so excited I couldn’t even let him finish his speech. I was a fountain of yes. Afterwards, we walked over to Secret Beach, shared a meal by bonfire, talked the night away, then slept in an open-air hut by the ocean where we woke up the next morning as fiancés.
The couple made it official in an elegant wedding (with the mutual friend as the best man!) at the spectacular Henley Room at the The Henley Room. Olive Photography was on hand to snap each memorable moment — you’ll want to check this one out!
The couple’s sophisticated photo session was filled with artistic touches, and, of course, a lot of love.
The couple’s reception was the picture of sweet and romantic. A classic neutral palette was highlighted by pops of pink and metallic, while brightly hued blooms from Periwinkle Flowers infused the surroundings with a cheery atmosphere. Romantic string lighting and lush plants gave an intimate feeling to the festivities, while the stunning floral cake from Bite Me Bakery was the perfect way to cap off a gorgeous night.
