Desiree and Matt got married at The Sir William Mackenzie Inn, a historical venue in Kirkfield, ON. The Victorian property was once the country estate of Sir William Mackenzie, a railway contractor known for building and owning the Canadian National Railway. The inn is surrounded by gardens and woods which set a serene mood and a scenic background for the talented photographers at Bows and Lavender to take photos. To fit the natural beauty of the estate, The Event Design Co. planned an elegant wedding with a soft colour palette of pure white, with hints of green and wood.
From the Planner: If you tried to imagine the perfect couple, the couple that would be any wedding planner’s dream, that would be Desiree and Matt. From the moment I met these two, I knew that their wedding was going to be one for the books. Their only request was that the day be fun for their guests, family and wedding party.
Guests gathered in a quiet wooded area for the romantic ceremony. Framed by a canopy with dangling white florals, Desiree and Matt said their I do’s under a garland of sweet paper cranes. After the first kiss as husband and wife, guests cheered and showered the newlyweds with natural confetti.
Desiree and Matt had a romantic photo session in the picturesque gardens and charming woods.
In the reception area, guests were invited to take a Polaroid photo of themselves to leave behind in the guestbook. Guests also received a tiny envelope of seeds as they found their places at the tables. Inside the large tent, the tables and chairs were elegantly dressed in pure white and accented with delicate florals designed by Greenery Patch. Everyone watched as Matt and Desiree entered and danced as a married couple for the first time. After an incredibly delicious dinner, ensured the guests filled up the dance floor and had a great time. It was definitely an unforgettable day for all!
