The Oliver & Bonacini Catering brand — celebrated for their phenomenal service and even more delectable cuisine — held a fabulous Open House this past week at Oliver & Bonacini Café Grill’s Oakville location. Not only a great spot for an upscale family-friendly dining experience, the space offers a trendy, versatile and open space for any type of social or corporate event.
Designed by Anacleto Designs, the venue features an expansive dining room, a gleaming open concept kitchen, and a chic private dining room. I personally loved the tasteful art throughout, as well as the wooden tables and warm accents. The chefs cooked up a delicious offering, and the events team at Event Culture rounded up several industry favourites to produce a truly fun and upbeat evening for all. Event sponsors Acorn Flowers & Co., Event Rental Group, Vintage Glam Events and Defining Moments Stationery provided all the lovely accents throughout the room, like the lovely floral centerpieces on the guest tables, and the impressive harvest table with large organic-style arrangements.
Undoubtedly, there was an impressive array of delicious food and beverage stations from which to choose. I was very impressed with the bar selection which included great summer cocktails, mocktails, fruit-infused water and wine. The bartenders were friendly and fun, providing loads of entertainment for the guests.
I particularly loved how fresh and local all of the ingredients were at each of the food stations. My favourite had to be the Gnocchi de Paris station, served in a Mushroom and Truffle Cream Sauce. This dish was the epitome of decadence and I won’t even deny going back for (a few rounds) of seconds. Other standout features included the Pulled Heritage Pork Sliders, Pork Rillettes, and the Poke Bowl Station. The chefs were friendly and knowledgeable and even told me all about the locally sourced pork, sourced within only 40KMs of the venue!
Now, we all know that a foodie event wouldn’t be complete without dessert – and boy, did O&B’s talented in-house catering team deliver! Preparing delicious Nitro Ice Cream, guests indulged in a treat that was a feast for the palette as well as the eye! This made to order vanilla nitro ice cream was topped with a balsamic glaze and had the perfect combination of creamy sweetness with a hint of kick from the glaze – I definitely wasn’t the only one who enjoyed this decadent treat!
The boys from Evolved Entertainment were on hand spinning great party music! I always love hearing Evolved play, especially with a live musical accompaniment. They kept the vibe upbeat with the best in contemporary and classics as guests mixed and mingled.
I caught up with a ton of industry friends at this upscale, upbeat event, and I know everyone walked away having had a great time. Oliver & Bonacini Café Grill is a great option for any event, from intimate rehearsals to larger celebrations. The light-filled Trafalgar Room can seat up to 24 guests, the Leighland Room can accommodate 111, and combined the two can be used for receptions of up to 135. Other great features of this space include free parking, the already on-premise premium furniture, and service items are all included – not to mention the great staff!
All in all, this was a lovely kick off to the summer season and we can’t wait to see the stunning events that the O&B will be bringing us in the future!
