We always love featuring blended weddings. With the help of their wedding planner Weddings with Nia, Hiwot and Michael’s worked tirelessly for over a year to create an unforgettable day that beautifully combined both their Ethiopian and Sri Lanken Tamil heritage. Every detail was carefully considered to highlight their heritage. From the customized ring box to the intricate bridal veil with their names and wedding date in Ge’ez script. Karimah Gheddai Photography captures every moment.
The bridal party looked impeccable, with Hiwot in a beautiful lace detailed dress from David's Bridal, her hair styled to perfection by Hair by Hanani and soft glam makeup by BBM Beauty. Michael wore a custom-made suit by CE Clothier with the couple’s wedding date sewn inside. The bridesmaids wore light teal dresses, while the groomsmen matched their outfits with ties in the same color and light gray suits.
After a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony, the couple and their bridal parties shot their wedding portraits at the Aga Khan Museum.
For the second day of their wedding, the Melse, a more intimate event on the second day, showcased the couple’s traditional Ethiopian outfits and delicious Ethiopian food, and a traditional coffee ceremony. The couple was welcomed with giant palm leaves held by their family and friends in typical Ethiopian fashion.
