Traditional elegance? Check. City chic? Check. If you’re looking for an urban wedding that manages to blend both old school sophistication with modern prettiness, not to mention a little bit of organic flair, then look no further than Megan and Zak’s stunning wedding set at the industrially stylish Archeo in Toronto’s Distillery District. Their big day was planned perfectly by the creative minds at Lovely in Lace Events & Co., and thankfully the talented Lindsie Grey was there to snap each precious moment.
From the Bride: Zak and I met 7 years ago working at the same restaurant together. We quickly hit it off as friends and even traveled together, not knowing that we were both interested in being more. We would even give each other girl/guy advice about one another without even knowing it. We were two best friends falling in love, couldn’t have asked for a better way to find our true love.
With the urban landscape of Toronto serving as a stunning backdrop, the couple’s photo session is the perfect combination of old world grandeur with contemporary charm.
Lush blooms, charming cobblestones, dreamy string lights… what’s not to like about the couple’s outdoor ceremony that was both rustically romantic and city sleek?
Playing up the industrial chic look of the venue, the couple’s reception is simplistically stylish with elements of a city garden party.
From the Bride: Our overall vision for our wedding day was very clean and classic with a little of a bohemian vibe featuring elements of gold geometric shapes and lots of greenery and candlelight. Archeo is such a beautiful venue and has the most amazing architecture so we really wanted to keep everything simple and classic. We used lots of loose laying greenery and different candle heights to create the centerpieces for the tables. We loved how it all came together and we wouldn’t have changed a thing.
Metallic and geometric items added to the modern feel of the night while rustic wooden elements gave a warm feel to the surroundings. The tasteful decor was curated by the bride herself, so the couple’s personal taste was evident throughout. The gorgeous greenery was provided by Fresh by Leanne and Prairie Girl Bakery created the delicious floral cake.
