Blair and Tom met through Blair’s older sister and completely hit it off. Sharing common interests, they both volunteered for the Southwestern Ontario branch of the Make-A-Wish Foundation while in university. Today, they still feel strongly about the cause so they decided to share the joy and magic of their wedding with the charity. Family and friends were encouraged to donate to the foundation in lieu of buying wedding gifts, and instead of party favours, Tom and Blair made contributions on behalf of their guests. As a result, a young boy’s wish to go on a Disney cruise came true!
The charming couple’s wish was granted too as Kristen Melville-Gray planned the wedding of their dreams. Taking great care of the details, she even visited various Toronto Libraries collecting old books to use as part of the centerpieces. The vintage themed wedding took place at Toronto’s historical Berkeley Church, a charming Victorian venue. Tamara Lockwood captured the beautiful day and fantastic party.
Tom and Blair took to the streets of Toronto to have their photos taken against the white brick walls and in an intimate courtyard. The bridal party joined in the fun and showered the couple with confetti.
Sunlight beamed through the stained glass windows during the joyful ceremony.
The venue’s mezzanine, overlooking the lights, tables and creaking floors of the grand ballroom, offered guests a great view of the party. Framed by a bare wall, Saturday Night Jive played live music on what was once an altar. Blush and Bloom designed the elegant flowers around the space and added a delicate touch to the delicious naked cake created by . Talented friends and family also added several personal touches to the wedding. Lindsay, the Maid of Honour, writes beautiful calligraphy and created all of the seating cards and signs. The mother and father of the bride created holders for the place cards out of wine corks. The highlight of the evening was a flash mob coordinated by Tom’s sister Jamie!
