In a further sign that the special events industry has come roaring back with a vengeance, we had the pleasure of attending the industry’s first wedding open house since re-opening! Hosted at the Hyatt Place Toronto Mississauga & Luxe Convention Centre, this brand new venue and hotel in Mississauga boasts over 12,000 square feet of event space, floor-to-ceiling windows and state-of-the art lighting, perfect for all types of events from intimate occasions to grand scale celebrations! The evening was filled with an abundance of delicious food spanning Western, Chinese and Indian cuisines, interactive experiences like customized edible cookies and musical performances by DJ Emporium‘s violinist and bongo player. A big thanks to Mendes Photography for capturing the fun-filled evening. Scroll on down to see what you missed!
As guests were welcomed by the venue’s large porte cochère, you were immediately drawn to their custom-designed light fixtures which boast sophistication and retro inspiration. Following along their large pre-event space that was filled with vendor interactive experiences such as The Oyster Brothers oyster bar and the perfect photo opp from PhotoboothTO and Photo Mosaic Media, guests made their way into the venue’s Legacy Ballroom adorned with trendy boho decorations designed by Babylon Decor & Much More. With 6,000 square feet of flexible and sub-divided event space, the Legacy Ballroom featured a couple’s stage with geometric and gold accents, arrangements filled with pampas grass and dried florals and textured overlay linens showcasing guests what a real wedding could look like.
Guests had a great time learning about the venue’s unique offerings including their hotel partnerships and were engaged by the interactive experiences provided by all sorts of additional unique vendors.
Guests really enjoyed having the opportunity to have their pictures taken and printed on a cookie for them to take home as favours thanks to Selffee – a company that specializes in edible, printed selfies.
Let’s not forget the sugary details ranging from baked goods like customized donuts and cookies from Guilty Pleasurez Dezzert Rentals.
Guests also had the opportunity to create a personalized poem written by Everyday People Typewriter Poems and A Celebrity Limousine‘s large fleet of luxury vehicles certainly wow’d guests!
The highlight of the evening was definitely the abundance of delicious and unique cuisines that filled every corner of the venue! From Pakistani cuisine provided by Zauq to Indian cuisine from Borgata Event Centre by Avani and Chinese cuisine from Grand Chinese Catering, it goes to show that Luxe Convention Centre can truly cater to all types of cultural weddings and events. We can’t forget about the venue’s in-house catering team who provided flavourful hot and cold hors d’oeuvres like coconut breaded shrimps, mini beef wellingtons, deluxe charcuterie boards, and a live carving station!
There was also a sushi station provided by Ginza Sushi! Sushi stations always make a great addition to any cocktail hour or late-night station.
We’d like to thank the team at Luxe Convention Centre for inviting us with open arms. We had so much fun experiencing their contemporary space, interacting with creative vendors and of course, eating all of the delicious food! It was a definitely a party with lots to celebrate and a great way to kick off the wedding season!
