Giampiero and Joanna first met on an online dating app but they soon discovered that they had a lot more in common than they first thought. For starters, they not only worked in the building across from each other in the financial district but they also lived a street away from each other in a downtown condo. Their union was clearly aligned in the stars, and was cemented when Giampiero proposed at the ROM in the fine China section. The couple’s sophisticated and artistic nature is evident throughout their special day, which was planned by the bride herself. Filled with both personal and chic details, the couple’s wedding at The Royalton is definitely reminiscent of a storybook romance. From the Bride: Having worked on the marketing and planning of major events for various large companies throughout the city, I wanted to tackle the biggest project of all, my wedding. From start to finish, I created a plan, researched vendors, created briefing documents for vendors and family. Having only 7 months to plan, we agreed that after seeing 3 vendors, we would make a decision. This helped us move quickly and get things done. It also helped that we were aligned with what we wanted our wedding to look like.
From the Bride: My favourite part of the day was entering the hall with my husband to Sussudio, after a day of preparation, we finally had a chance to spend time together and let loose. After our amazing upbeat entrance, our first dance was Michael Buble’s Falling in Love with you and it was romantic. Seeing the video and photos afterward of our dance, I loved the way my Ines di Santo ballgown looked under the light- all the details shined and sparkled, very much like a fairy tale.
