Jessica and Winston elegantly brought their Chinese cultural traditions together for their wedding at the Columbus Event Centre. The groom is Canadian-born Chinese, and while the bride is from China, she has been living in Canada for 10 years. Because half of their guests were not Chinese, Jessica considered their wedding to be the best chance to show her husband and her friends in Canada more about Chinese culture. With help from the creative minds at Fleur Weddings, the couple was able to create the celebration of their dreams, and one that held a lot of meaning to both of them, including an emphasis on the lotus flower, which represents purity, growth, freedom and birth, as well as faith of love and faith of life. It’s a beautiful symbol for a beautiful wedding. Thankfully the talented lens of AGI Studio was on hand to snap each precious moment.
The lotus served as the centerpiece of the couple’s gorgeous ceremony that was filled with lush florals and personal touches.
The couple’s awe-inspiring reception was inspired by “The Lotus Pool by Moonlight,” a unique Chinese style emerald wedding with thousands of details. The couple wanted to bring the beauty of nature into their art gallery venue. Shades of emerald were evident throughout, including the emerald-coloured round invitation with a moon inside to bring out the theme. Everything in the wedding was symbolically round, like the lotus, from the venue to the centerpieces and table numbers to the round dance floor with a customized wedding monogram featuring the bride and groom’s Chinese name. Delicate details were throughout, including the stunning flowers were from Flowers Time and the receiving table that featured an oil-paper umbrella and tassels backdrop. Guests were treated to Chinese traditional cakes and cookies, and a delectable cake from Yue’s Cake Boutique.
