Word is out and we couldn’t be more excited! Leslieville is now home to a fabulously new, incredibly versatile event space, Streetcar Crowsnest. Able to accommodate up to 450 guests, this beautifully converted theatre space is perfect for any couple looking to tie the knot in a truly unique and industrially-chic setting.
This past week, the team at Streetcar Crowsnest, together with a host of its preferred vendors, opened its doors to introduce the special event industry to its brand new event space. A big thanks to Dahlia Katz Photography for capturing all the details of the evening!
Everyone knows that music can really set the tone for the evening and luckily for us, one of my favourites, Brent Miller LIVE, was on hand to liven up the lobby as guests entered the space.
The folks at Food Dudes, one of the venues five preferred caterers, treated guests to a lovely live Poke Bowl station, featuring choice of Sashimi Grade Salmon or Smoked BBQ Tofu. Guests had the choice of different sauces, including Sambal dressing, Yuzu Chilli Aioli and Ginger Soy Glaze. Each bowl was accompanied by Mango, Jicama, Carrot, Wakame, Nori Crisps, Taro Crisps and Tempura Bits. Total yum!
Victor Dries Curated Events created two deliciously savoury dishes for guests to try: a delightful Creamed Mushrooms on Toast, featuring Escargot and Tarragon on a Baguette; the second – which I couldn’t get enough of – was Hot Smoked Salmon with Tartar Sauce on Crispy Chicken Skin.
Emma's Eatery Catering provided a cheerfully colourful table of farm fresh veggies and fun dips. My personal favourite was the white bean and truffle dip, which paired beautifully with the wide array of delicious veggies in the wooden display boxes. Who knew eating veggies could be so delish?
Our friends at Presidential Gourmet crafted a delectable deconstructed Beef Wellington, complete with Bacon Butter, Truffle Jus, King Oyster Mushroom and Parsnip and Sweet Potato Puree. Guests looking for a sweeter treat were welcomed to try out their yummy Red Velvet Mascarpone Cake Pops. I may have had two :).
Table 17 Catering, the venue’s in house caterer, created three bite sized dishes that seriously packed on the flavour: a Seared Lamb Loin with whipped Persian Feta; cured Bay Scallops with homemade Pickles; a hen of the woods Mushroom Fricassee on Puff Pastry.
Of course, no event would be complete without some serious decor. I loved the work put in by the team at Higgins Event Rentals. This dedicated team brought in stunning and completely unique decor pieces to highlight the beauty of the space. Everything from the wooden harvest tables to the stunning black and gold place settings in the centre of the room worked beautifully. The juxtaposition of warm woods against the cool industrial interior and high ceilings gave the space a very trendy and welcoming feel.
To complete the tour, we headed downstairs to a lovely lower-level bridal suite and dressing room. Beautifully lit that night by AV Strategies, the room featured beautiful displays from The Loved One, Sash & Bustle and Cry If I Want To. Given the venue’s theatre-style disposition, this Hollywood-grade bridal suite is perfect for mingling with girlfriends and prepping together for the big day.
Anyone looking to host an event with delicious food in a beautiful, modern and unique setting owes it to themselves to check out this great new space! A huge thank you to the talented vendors, catering teams, and the venue staff for hosting such a wonderful event!
