After months of anticipation, last Thursday gave way to the first sneak peek of the newly opened, ultra-swanky Hotel X Toronto situated along the beautiful waterfront. With a venerable who’s who of the Toronto event planning scene in attendance, guests were invited to take an exclusive tour of the city’s newest sky-scraping 5-star hotel, complete with unprecedented views of the skyline, island airport and Lake Ontario. Party goers were treated to sensational concoctions courtesy of the hotel’s mixology team, and delicious eats from the in house team at Peter and Pauls Event Catering. Photographer Christine Ung captures the evening’s festivities.

New Fort Hall has been on everyone’s “must see list” since photos started popping up all over Instagram over the past few months. With tons of natural light and a very cool greenhouse vibe, this extraordinary event space is sure to be the new hotspot for weddings, meetings, and galas alike. Another unique feature of the space? It was actually built on top of a piece of Toronto history! Underneath is a glass floor with a view of excavated remanence of the Fort York barracks. So unique!

Pure Event Design flowered the room with this year’s Pantone colour of the year – living coral. This bright pop of colour gave guests the perfect glimpse into a what a springtime cocktail hour in this glass-filled room could look like. Tall greenery sprawls and cherry blossoms accentuated the florals – a vivid picture of what a greenhouse in the city can achieve.

Peter & Pauls Event Catering has taken the reigns when it comes to producing all the mouthwatering food at this new hotel, including restaurants, private dining, and in-room service. The culinary team showcased just some of whats to come in the world of eats at the hotel. In addition to a constant flow of delightful passed hors d’oeuvres, there was certainly no shortage of incredible food! Highlights included a fragrant and delicious Asian Noodle station with choice of protein (complete with chopstick lesson from their hilarious chef); a tower of freshly shucked oysters stacked on a custom-made ice sculpture courtesy of Golden Chefs poke bowls aplenty; and meat carving station that was absolutely to die for!

After indulging in food, beverage, and grooving to wicked tunes by Switchbeat (a band from Fusion Events‘ talented roster), guests were personally toured through the hotel’s other event spaces which include two beautiful ballrooms (complete with their own terraces); a 4th floor outdoor terrace overlooking the lake with retractable roof; and the 28th floor event space complete with unimpeded views of the waterfront, a private bar area, all within short site of the property’s 365-day-a-year outdoor heated pool.
