Eden and Les first met and felt the spark at a Neil Young concert. Soon after, they attended a friend’s birthday party and really connected. The couple shares a carefree spirit and a love of partying, so they wanted an eclectic and electric wedding to suit their personalities. They dreamed of a natural, serene setting for the celebration. With the help of Karen G Events, they planned a beautiful wedding at the gorgeous lakefront venue, Palais Royale. Luminous Weddings captures all of the day’s festivities.
Eden and Les love nature and the outdoors. They had a lovely photo session on the boardwalk with the lake in the background, and in the streets of Toronto in front of a colourful mural.
During the ceremony Eden and Les stood framed by a birch tree chuppah, right on the water’s edge, with Lake Ontario and blue skies in the background. Small birch bark pots filled with dainty white flowers decorated the space. Family prayer shawls were used at the ceremony, and for the covering the challah bread, which Eden’s 91 year old grandfather blessed.
From the Planner: Every detail had special meaning to the bride and groom. They made every effort to be inclusive and ensure that everyone who was important to them received a meaningful honour.
The reception area was decorated with graceful simplicity and touches of nature. String lighting hanging across the room provided the space with a soft glow. Guests found their names on seating cards that resembled wood bark and were displayed on rustic logs. The tables were set simply with white linen and burlap runners from Around the Table. Centerpieces of tree bark slices were topped with a collection of little vases filled with florals from Wildflowers & Company. As guests took their seats and chatted, St. Royal Entertainment took the stage and played cool jazz. Conversations came to a pause as everyone watched and cheered while the bride and groom entered the room as newlyweds! It was a fabulous day full of celebration!
From the Planner: A rip roaring hora kicked off the festivities, with everyone on the dance floor, chairs in the air, body surfing and lots of spinning in circles! One of the highlights was seeing the bride’s 90 year old grandmother lifted above the crowd with her hands in the air & a smile on her face!
