Celebrating the launch of their 2025 carefully curated catering menu, the team at Daniel et Daniel Catering & Events invited various professionals from across the industry to their sneak peek dinner at The Royal Conservatory.
Naturally, RCM served as the perfect venue host for the occasion. With plenty of natural light afforded by the venue’s stunning floor-to-ceiling windows and terrace, perfect blend of history and modern architecture, and ideal downtown locale, this venue never fails to impress. A big thanks to Marika Brooks Photography for all the stunning captures!
The venue was immaculately decorated for the special evening by Terrain Flowers while Around the Table supplied all the beautiful Chinoiserie-inspired blue floral linens. Rows of beautifully decorated tables adorned by white-washed rattan chargers, gauze cotton napkins, Louis chairs and cut crystal stemware by Element Event Solutions.
Entering the space, guests were immediately greeting with hors d’oeuvres and drinks thanks to the exceptional service of The Butler Did It. With a gentle nod toward D&D’s French roots, guests enjoyed delicacies such as Foie Gras Profiterole and Smoked Trout Rillette
After welcoming all guests, Executive chef Karen O’Connor introduced the new menu and its culinary inspirations. The night’s meal began with Lavender Melon on Greens – a fusion of fresh mixed greens topped with colourful and refreshing melon, whipped lemon feta, mint, mustard seeds and coconut lavender vinaigrette. This opening course embodied summer with its bright colours and a mix of sweet fruit and zesty feta. Next was the main course: options of Seared Cod on a bed of Forbidden Black Rice, Vegetarian Ratatouille Tian, while I had selected Flank Steak seared to perfection with Piri Piri, diced Red Peppers accompanied by Roasted Asparagus and Baby Potatoes.
After a brief musical interlude in the stunning Koerner Hall, guests were treated to lovely medley of dessert options including Stone Fruit Pavlova, Foret Noire, Bay Leaf & Blackberry, and Coconut Raspberry Hibiscus Pannacotta.
As the evening drew to a close, a standing ovations seemed only fitting to show the D&D culinary team appreciation for executing such an extravagant feast. I was so honoured to be among the attendees. After not being able to attend these invigorating industry nights for the last few years, a huge thanks to the Daniel et Daniel team for putting together such an inspiring evening!
