Daniel and Jonathan’s gorgeous wedding was inspired by their venue, the stunning Sovereign Ballroom at The Omni King Edward Hotel. The old world, classic and elegant charm of their decor, florals, menu, photos and outfits were fitting for the time and era of the hotel, which was built in 1903. With month-of coordination from the creative minds at Tea for Two Weddings & Events and beautiful photography by the talented Simply Lace Photography, this is one timeless gallery you don’t want to miss out on.
Using the urban flair of Toronto as their backdrop, the couple’s photo session is sleek, sophisticated, and filled with tender moments.
For the ceremony, the couple really wanted to make it as personal and intimate for them and their guests.
From the Grooms: The ceremony was intimate, warm and emotional. It was so personal and filled with laughter, which was exactly what we wanted. Every single person in the room was either laughing or crying in every given moment. Our chuppah was a simple birch wood chuppah that was draped with two family Tallits (Traditional Jewish Prayer Shawl) from both sides of our family. Family heirlooms were also part of the ceremony itself including two kiddish cups, candle sticks and even the Tallit’s we wore.
The couple’s reception was grand yet personal. The newlyweds chose a colour scheme of warm grey and mixed metallics befitting of the classical space with its high ceilings, shimmery chandeliers, and ornate architecture. Every detail (including the bridal party’s silk tuxedos and grey gowns) reflected the sophisticated yet contemporary feel of the venue. The florals from Have a Seat were masculine yet whimsical with pops of colour to add a dash of pizzazz. The delicious donut cake from The Rolling Pin added the sweetest touch, while Evolved Entertainment brought everyone to their feet on the dance floor.
From the Grooms: We are two 90’s kids and so were most of our guests, so when it came the dance floor, we wanted it to be an ode to our favourite decade. Imagine the best high school dance you’ve ever been to! Our strategy worked, our guests were on the dance floor way into the early morning dancing their hearts away to some of the best 90’s hits including Spice Girls, Britney Spears, Biggie, Weezer, Oasis – it really was like we were kids again!
