If you missed the Estates of Sunnybrook‘s 30 year celebration and industry night this past Tuesday, you missed out on a real treat! The renowned hospitality team put together an evening exclusively for industry pros. Almost 400 vendors from across the city flocked together to enjoy an exquisite evening of fabulous food and Client appreciation… and I can tell you first hand that we all felt very appreciated!
Hosted in the always enchanting Vaughan Estate, the venue called on it’s preferred vendors to help create a stunning display of the latest floral and decor trends, complemented by the delightful fare created by the in-house catering team. Guests mingled throughout the evening, taking in the fabulous displays on both levels of the estate. Naturally, in our industry, one notices all the finer details that make any event special and their was plenty on display. Anastasia from Olive Photography arrives early to capture all the glorious pre-event details!
The Main Ballroom of the Vaughan Estate was beautifully designed by Malvina from Fabulous Occasions. Wild Theory Floral and Event Design stunned guests (and social media followers) with beautiful combinations of floral elements. I loved everything from the long and low design – artfully arranged with moss base and a beautiful array of colourful blooms – to the gold-capped bottles that perfectly complemented the furniture accents from our friends at Detailz Couture Event Rentals.
We next made our way downstairs to the lower level where the crowd was kept well-entertained by standout performances from the LED-clad ballerinas from TDC Entertainment. The ballerinas stole more than a few glances as they gracefully twirled throughout the space, in perfect harmony with the warm vocals by Ken Delos Santos.
The space was beautifully decorated and designed by Jodi at Simply Perfect with help from Rosehill Blooms, Helix Candles, Around the Table and Contemporary Furniture Rentals.
Let’s talk about the food! If you missed this event, you may wind up kicking yourself. The catering team at the Estates of Sunnybrook absolutely brought their A-game. Every appetizer and station was so well thought out for the discerning crowd. My favourite appetizers included the Duck Confit sliders, the grilled Cheese with smoked Cheddar and Salami, and the mini Sheppard’s Pie tart.
In the main ballroom, guests indulged in a sumptuous bounty of carved Braised Beef Brisket, as well as a lovely Pasta station with smoked Chicken, Duck and sautéed Shrimp. On the lower level, the most beautiful Charcuterie and Cheese board you ever did see was on display, as well as several mini dish stations. My favourite was the seared Ahi Tuna plate, and the seared sea Scallop and Gazpacho shooter.
The sweets were ample, light and delicious. Chocolate covered Strawberries, Pineapples and Bananas plus delicious Gelato from Love Gelato were also a hit all around.
Jeff and the team from Impact DJ kept the musical mood light and fun (and also set up a wicked photobooth!).
It’s clear that the Estates of Sunnybrook has plenty to celebrate, not only 30 years in the industry, but 30 years as an industry leader and influencer of flawless hospitality and taste. As a guest, I felt like the event was all about me, and I enjoyed every minute of it! A sincere thank you to all of the vendors, staff and of course the hospitality team at the Estates. I can’t wait to see what the next 30 years looks like!
