I’ll start with the positives: the furniture itself was lovely and the delivery/pick-up went well.

Overall, however, we had quite a challenging experience with CFR/CMM. Throughout the process, the customer service was spotty at best, and frustrating and confusing at worst. Here’s a brief summary of the issues we encountered:
- The website is not updated, so you don’t get an accurate picture of what items are actually available for rental
- For items that are posted on the website, the price is not listed, so you need to ask for a quote and further details
- The customer service rep we worked with couldn’t answer most of our (very simple) questions about the furniture (which ones are allowed outside, what prices are, what the fabrics are like, dimensions, etc.), which resulted in delays while she sought out answers
- There was no way to leave voicemails for our rep, so we ended up playing telephone and/or email tag, which resulted in even longer delays
- I provided my rep with a very clear list of items I wanted to check out at the showroom and we arranged a time for me to visit. Only once I had arrived at the showroom did she inform me that most of the pieces weren’t even available to see
- They no longer stock any couches with arms, so their “sofas” are more like padded benches (not exactly helpful when the entire reason we were renting furniture was to support guests with mobility/accessibility concerns)
- Though it sometimes took days to get an email response back from the rep, once it came time to pay, I felt quite pressured to do so immediately (receiving multiple emails containing phrases such as “your prompt response is kindly requested,” “let me know as soon as possible if you’ll be confirming the order,” etc.)
- They delivered the wrong pillow on the day of the event, so things were mismatched. When I mentioned this by email after the fact, the response I received just said “our apologies,” with no offer of a partial or full refund for that item or even credit towards a future rental

Our event took place in a heritage building, so we really had no other option but to use this company. If you do end up going with them for an event, I recommend giving yourself a significant amount of lead time and preparing yourself for quite a bit of back-and-forth with representatives. Ultimately, the furniture looked nice and served its purpose, but this was the most challenging vendor we worked with by far.

CFR has the nicest selection of furniture and accessories in the city for party rentals! The colours and variety of items can be combined to create the most unique and exquisite parties! The service provided from start to finish is impeccable! They keep all pieces in immaculate condition and I know when I order items they will look fabulous for my clients! The showroom is the most exciting! Always changing to showcase the newest items, and it is a dream to come there with clients as they fall in love with the furniture concept right away!
